So having a really rough and difficult day and being in a horrible mood i had to stop at Walmart for some last minuet stuff. On my way out i was a 90 something little old man getting into his car in a handicap spot. He had on a World War 2 Veteran hat so I pulled off my headphones and said "my grandfather flew bomber planes in ww2" this guy who seemed sad at first, perked up and started telling me how happy he was to hear I was proud of my grandfather.
He called me over and hugged me really tight and told me to take a stuffed animal from the passenger side of his old beat up car. He then told me he stops at every yard sale he passes and always buys the stuffed animals he finds. He keeps them in his car to give away to kind people like me.
I started getting teary eyes because it had not been an easy day and I was pretty sad about brandons grandmother passing early that moring. I let him know he had really brightened up my day. He then got teary eyes himself and told me about loosing his wife of 65 years who had passed last year. He told me he "just can't get over it. He said he gives away these stuffed animals to make others smile and in the process it warms his sad old heart."
It was so sweet and he gave me 2 little pig stuffed animals, one for Airabella and one for me......i will never forget this little old man and the way he changed my heart today with just a simple yard sale stuffed pig.
