So I had this incredibly brilliant idea today after leaving church if I do say so myself. I actually felt really bad. I think I offended my friend by getting 3 books from another vender at the consignment sale yesterday. It wasn't that at all. I was able to run into her at church at tell her how ready I am to have a get together for her. I was able to get 3 books 1/2 price and have to show people at church what they were.
Any way. I am setting up a cool get together, hopefully in Shelbyville first if someone wants to volunteer their home for 2 hours. It would have to be kid friendly but we would clean up after wards. (we have gotten really good at cleaning up after our own children trust me.) So I am excited to say that "somewhere in Shelbyville on Monday the 29th of this month, a week from tomorrow we will get to look at some really cool books.
And even more exciting is a new club I have decided to start up called the "Paper Plane Friends". Now this is the really cool part. Usbourne Books has a super really neat book full of paper and instructions on how to fold the paper planes. They are really easy to fold and a bit smaller than printer paper size. I think kids could learn how to do them pretty easily after watching a few done first. So it is a great project to sit down and to together as a family or friends. You could do this anywhere, Literally.
So you could fold these in the car, on the couch, around a campfire, right after waking up while the kids eat breakfast. They could watch the parents fold a few and by the time breakfast is done, you have spent at least 10 minuets together as a family before school or just all of your daily activities. Add a prayer and a scripture of the day in there and you have a quality way to send your kids (and yourself) off on a quality day. SWEET!!
Another part of the club is soooo much fun and allows anyone involved, and I do mean anyone. You are supposed to Sign the Plane and have some fun with it. Just HAVE FUN!! fly the plane as much as you want, the paper is durable. then take as many as you want and PUT IN ZIP LOCK BAG with A MESSAGE THAT IS UPLIFTING!!!
Now it is time to get creative. Think of a way to share it. We are gonna start ours today. (Slide show about our fun to follow as soon as I can get to it.) Share it some how with some one. Throw it at a coworker that needs to laugh or smile. Throw it off a building where you had an inspirational moment. Send it to some solders who WE ALL KNOW could use an "Uplifting Message." Let them throw those at each other for awhile as just some good clean fun.
We are gonna send some to my Youngest Bro Stuart who I call Stu. He just had a hard week at aviation mechanics school. But you know, I really think this would cheer him up. And man what a stress relief to throw a paper airplane at someone or something. I am soooo incredibly proud of him. Such a good man who is a true Righteous Warrior for Sure.
So Cool!!! Who's in. I think we should see how many people get involved. In a world with so very much negative let's have a lot more positive. Write it down and send the plane on it's way. Make sure that you pick up the planes if it is considered littering where you throw it I guess but please at least consider putting a few in a zip lock bag and leaving them like a treasure for some one else to find.
Some of the many benifets of doing this is that the folding of the paper airplane is methodical and calming This is good for everyone from my autistic boys, to the stressed out lawyer, to the teacher on a much needed break. Maybe we could even get classed to raise and donate $10 to recieve one of these books and an address of some soldiers that could use a friend back here at home.
I mean think about it...soldiers, business people, car salesmen, post men, school bus drivers, teachers, surgeons, the elderly or anyone that needs to keep up mobility in their hands. As a side note, i got up today weighing 10 lbs more than when i went to bed. I had a bunch of pasta and ended up waking for a huge glass of water 3 times last night. I am totally swollen all over and not just in my joints. I HAVE LEARNED MY LESSON. No more pasta for me. like ever. There are many other uncomfotable things going on but I really don't want to talk about them. But the point is, i spent maybe 3 hours folding these planes for the boys and all the swelling in my hands is gone. i am able to type with no pain right now. VERY INTRESTING if i do say so myself. I really think this could help with so many mobility issues in so many different types of people.
Also, anyone with focusing problems, kids, adults....anyone. You can learn to fold these so quickly that it soon becomes a soothing act for the person and inturn very calming and "reorganizing" to the brain. I really wish I knew some one who could do a study on this. We have the potintal to take a heck of a lot of stress away from a lot of people. Lets put some in the prisons and see if the violence goes down. Who knows. Lets give it to heart patient and high blood pressure patients and see if it helps with the healing process by keeping the person calmer during recovery. Man my mind is racing right now. I love this brain storming part right before something gets really fun!
Next, anyone can toss an airplane if just a couple of feet. still fun even if it is just a few feet. Get the elderly playing with kiddos and babies. Let them throw the planes and the kids and babies chase them. Then together they can add their names and pass them along. Sooo much fun. Let's bring a little light back into the world and have some fun again!
Please world take no disrespect from the recent, past or present tragedies around the world. I have been so heart broken and distraught for so very long just wondering what I could do. I mean I am just one person and I am so very challenged in my family life too. But I know that if anything it would be something that me and the boys could do to try and cheer up the world. I mean "if it isn't fun, then it's just work"
So the little book was only $8 and you can get it Here:

Paper Plane Friends:
Here is a plane with my signature within,
Add your too and let the fun begin!
We folded the paper and flew it through the air.
Now it's your turn to let loose if you dare.
If you add your name now then let your planes fly
I promise you'll have fun, if you give it a try.
So "Throw That Plane!!" let the fun begin.
Come along and be a Paper Plane Friend.
