It has been a really difficult weekend with Hunter. His birthday was on Thursday, Valentines day, so we have been trying to celebrate with out causing more crazy. That's not so easy when the schools allow the children to give out candy and treats. Plus the fact that his routine gets disrupted which is never good.
I'm not even gonna go into all the crazy that has happened except that we spent the day with grams and papa yesterday all day. Their house is totally set up for their grand kids so that's not the problem, it all goes back to disrupting the routine.
Today is Pres. Day so no school.....great. So we are trying to keep the kids busy. Out came the IPads and some education fun.
I have found with these type of kids, the more you challenge their brains, the less symptomatic they are. Today we are working on the app "solar walk". It allows the kids to explore the universe. So cool and it is totally free. After that we are gonna pull up the Smithsonian app to explore different types of Dino's. Later, if the kids behave, meaning not hurting each other, we will take them to the YMCA for some swimming time. Swim is one of the best therapies you can do with a sensory or autistic kid. The deep pressure they get in the water.
Wish us luck!
